Life in a Ghost Town

Garnet is an old mining ghost town, located in the western mountains of Montana approximately 32 miles due east of Missoula that is accessible to the public and is being slowly restored by its small population of residents. Besides the structures, many remnants of its past can be found on the land such as ore carts, antiques and various other machinery, the mountains and tall pine trees that surround the town makes a beautiful and picturesque backdrop for everyone to enjoy. If ever in the area this is a great place to see that will take you back to a time when gold and silver mining was part of American history.

Photographed in 1997 with my Pentax camera using 35mm film.
